YPK: How the seeds they planted last week : May 19, 2009

This morning, after the morning circle, the Rockets got to see how the seeds they planted last week have developed so far. They were amazed by the way their seeds became little plants and how different they look.

After, we played using flashcards and trained writing the letter D. They all knew the words DOG and funnily enough, DRAGON, but not DRAGONFLY.

Then we had lunch and went outside, where it was a beautiful and hot sunny day, we played parachute and the little ones loved it.

Recently H.T. is really into Ultraman, so all the time we were outside, he kept doing Ultraman moves while singing the Ultraman soundtrack.

It was very funny.

YPK : Planting seeds : May 12, 2009

Today we had our morning circle and the kids requested the song we learned last week "Baby Bumblebee", and they loved the gestures, specially the silly ones.

Then we divided the class and the Galaxies went outside where we talked about plants and how they come about, and things they need to survive like sunlight and water.

After that, each kid took a cup, filled it with poting soil and they all planted some seeds. Some kids planted lettuce, others planted radish or beans, and then we watered the cups, after which they all said "Now we need sun!"

Let's see how that turns out in the coming days.

YPK: Amazing Do Re Mi Song : April 28, 2009

Today the kids started the day full of energy as usual.

First thing in the morning the toddlers and rompers 1 had their morning circle where he went hrough the abc song, weather song, five little ducks (they love that one) and then they requested "Everybody Jump", one of their favourites.

After that, David taught them a new song/dance: "walking walking, hop hop hop" and they all did really well. During the ABC song, K.F. was very enthusiastic and surprised the teachers with his
singing.

During free play time, R.S. and M.M. were playing house, and while R.S. was "cooking", she was singing the do re mi song, from "the Sound of Music" film soundtrack! (the older kids learnt that song last December).

It is amazing how much they pick up unconsciously.

YAK : 「A」ワークシート : April 17, 2009

今年度のクラフトワークシートが今日からスタートしました。　

A is for ANT / ant です。

Aグループさんは、「A」で始まる言葉探し。

ant、alligator、apple ...　いくつ見つけられたかな？

ワークシートの後のストーリーは、Aliki の "All By Myself"。

みんなはぜ～んぶひとりでできるかな？

We all went to the park today and the kids loved it!

As soon as we got into the bus, they started singing "we're going to the park" with Jeana. They were fascinated by the cherry blossoms falling and had a lot of fun.

The other kids (and some mums) were really interested when some of them spoke in English or answered simple commands like "hold hands", "line up", "don't run", etc. . .

We had lunch under the cherry trees and played some more, before heading back to the school.

During the ride, a lot of kids were asleep, after having so much fun.

今日は、AKクラスでも４月のカレンダー制作です。

イースターバスケットの weaving も根気よく頑張りました。

１から１２までの数字書きも、去年より上手になってきています。
